We’ve been married now for 6 years, and, since then, we have grown accustomed to being together. We have also grown accustomed to being apart for work, errands, and just daily activities but ever since he started his plumber training courses he hasn’t been home, and I have been so lonely.
I used to believe that I would never miss him; because there was so many times that I wished he would just leave alone. Not that it is his intention to do so now, he is just so busy with his plumber training courses that he is rarely home, and when he is home he is tired so he is grumpy.
Why A Plumber?
Why a plumber you ask? Why a subtitle in a blog you ask? Well, I will answer the first question only. When we were first married, he had grand dreams of becoming a master plumber. He always loves working with his hands, and getting dirty appeals to almost any male. But he had to put his dreams on hold and get a quick job because shortly after getting hitched we got pregnant. It was an unplanned pregnancy, not an unwanted one but we still had to find a way to make ends meet until we got to a place where he could just concentrate on taking the plumber training courses.
Once we had the baby (once I had the baby), we had a tough time getting the money we needed to buy diapers and food. But God and some friends helped us out so we are doing really well now. Since we are no longer looking at financial ruin, he is able to take the plumber training courses now. This leads me back to the sob story about how I am the lonely wife!
Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy that he is able to follow through with his dream. I just wish that I could be there with him, and support him a little more. Not that I want to do his homework (using a drain snake isn’t my idea of refreshing work), but I would like to be his cheering section. In order for me to speak to him at all, he has to be home, which he rarely is now that he is taking his plumber training courses.
He will be done within the next year, and then he can do the training and the get the experience he needs to take his licensing exam. Once that is all done, master plumber is within reach. In the meantime, I have to suck it up and keep loving him. After all, he is doing this all for his family!
